Supporting the Asian Development Bank: policy approaches to stimulate exports

Fieldwork with Georgian exporters on trade regulation, market knowledge and trade finance gaps, leading to a comprehensive export promotion strategy built on an ecosystem-based "team" approach.

Andreas Klasen · 2023–2024

Fieldwork and interviews with Georgian exporters identified the barriers they face: complex trade regulation, limited knowledge of target markets, trade finance gaps and competing export promotion programmes abroad. The work recommended a comprehensive export promotion strategy with an ecosystem-based "team" approach, combining capacity building, targeted market support and financial risk mitigation.
