The Export-Import Bank of Pakistan (PakEXIM) was established in 2022 to support the country's exporters with finance and risk cover. As a young institution, it faces two questions at once: how modern export credit agencies and EXIM banks work internationally, and what that means for its own mandate, products and priorities.

The institute designed an International Executive Leadership and Strategy Programme around these questions. A one-day leadership strategy workshop brought together management, board and government stakeholders. It built a shared view of what a modern EXIM is, where PakEXIM is genuinely additional, and where the bank should compete, partner or specialise. The results fed directly into PakEXIM's strategy implementation.

A modular capability programme for specialist teams followed, delivered with the National Institute of Banking and Finance (NIBAF). The modules cover foundations and mandate; origination, underwriting and pricing; and country risk. They combine international benchmarks from established peers with table work on PakEXIM's own cases, delivered on site in Islamabad and online.

Outcomes

Leadership strategy workshop with management, board and government stakeholders; three-module capability programme; inputs into PakEXIM's strategy implementation.
