Prof Dr Christine Neuhold

Christine Neuhold is Professor of EU Democratic Governance at the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASoS), Maastricht University, and from October 2026 to March 2027 a Visiting Fellow at the European University Institute's Florence School of Transnational Governance.

Her research focuses on accountability in networked systems of multi-level governance, the European Parliament, national parliaments and the evolving dynamics of EU institutions. She was Dean of FASoS from 2020 to 2026 and earlier headed the Department of Political Science and directed UM Campus Brussels. Before joining Maastricht University in 2002, she worked at the European Institute of Public Administration and the Institute for Advanced Studies in Vienna.

Christine holds a doctorate in political science from the University of Vienna.
