Professor Andreas Klasen

Professor Andreas Klasen is Director of the lill Institute for Public Value. He also serves as Honorary Research Associate at the University of Oxford and as Honorary Visiting Professor at Bayes Business School, City St George’s, University of London. In addition, he is a Partner and Managing Director with lill Advisory.
His academic contributions focus on public policy, economic competitiveness, and international public finance. He also provides strategic counsel to governments and public financial institutions. His clients include, for instance, Afreximbank, the Asian Development Bank, the Dutch Ministry of Finance, the European Commission, Export Development Canada, the Islamic Development Bank, UK Export Finance, the United Nations, and the World Bank Group. Before joining academia as a Professor of International Business, most recently at Brunel University of London, he was a Partner at PwC, as well as Co-Head and Managing Director of the Export Credit Agency of the Federal Republic of Germany.
Dr Andreas Klasen was educated at Leibniz University Hannover, Northumbria University, the University of Wales, the University of St Andrews, and Columbia Business School, studying law, business, and theology, and receiving his doctoral degree in finance. He is also a fully qualified German solicitor (Rechtsanwalt).
